Markus Coehn is a Partner at Peterreins Schley and responsible for the firm’s chemistry department. He focusses on contentious proceedings before the EPO having represented our clients in more than a hundred opposition and appeal cases, though he also has extensive experience in litigating patents and SPCs before the German District Courts, the Federal Patent Court, the Federal Court of Justice and the European Court of Justice.

On the prosecution side, Markus specializes in assisting clients in developing value-oriented patent portfolios and in portfolio mining. Both go hand-in-hand with extensive work on FTO- and patent landscaping analyses.

Before starting at Peterreins Schley, Markus was a Partner at the U.S. law firm Fish & Richardson P.C. Before joining Fish & Richardson P.C., he worked at the IP boutique Bardehle Pagenberg. Prior to his law career, Mr. Coehn worked as research assistant at the University of Munich developing antibiotics against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
