Simon is a patent litigator and counsel at Peterreins Schley. He advises on all contentious and non-contentious patent law matters. During his career, Simon has been involved in extensive and mostly international patent law disputes, for example in the areas of telecommunications, video and network technology, electronics, life sciences, mechanics, and automotive. Due to his significant involvement in various international patent litigation proceedings pertaining to mobile devices, base stations, TVs and network components, Simon gained sound knowledge and experience in the enforcement of standard essential patents (SEPs) and the related FRAND objection.
Before joining Peterreins Schley, Simon worked for renowned international law firms in Munich and Zurich. He studied law with a particular focus on intellectual property law at the University of Würzburg and at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a Ph.D. (Dr. iur.) with a focus on intellectual property law and an LL.M. (UC Berkeley) with a specialization in law & technology.
